How much should it cost to replace a wheel bearing in a 1995 Monte Carlo?

I am trying to find a shop to replace a wheel bearing in my other car, a 1995 monte carlo, before I sell it. It has front wheel drive, 3.1 Litre engine, ABS, and the wheel bearing that needs to be replaced is the front passenger side wheel bearing. I have called shops, and they have quoted DRASTICALLY different prices (from $190 to $485). I need to just replace the bearing and sell it ASAP, and as you can see, the car is old and not worth much anyhow, so I don't want to invest much more into it.

Any mechanics out there that can answer this?

There will be a wiring connection to the VSS either way. You need to disconnect that, the speedometer cable (if you have one), and there should be a small bolt with a hold down clamp to remove. After that, it just pulls straight out. Make sure you don't get any dirt in the hole it fits into, and put some fresh ATF on the O-ring of the new part before you install it.

This is what I did. I used the safety pin method to get the string back into the pants, and to the back where it needed to be adhered again. I am not a sewing person, so I went to the craft store and got some fabric glue. I cut a little hole inside the waist band of my sweats so that I could get the safety pin out, then glued the string where it belonged!

I let it dry for 48 hours before I attempted to wear them. So far, it's holding!

(Black,red usually) this is your common wire it is either the hot wire or the switch leg and common. The one wire you are referring to in this question is the hot and yes it is the common wire and should go to all three switches on the colored screw.

The same way you took them off or are wired. The other two wires do not make a difference on where they go as long as you do one switch at a time you should be fine. One hot two travelers to each switch. At one switch the common should be the constant power. At the other end the common will be the feed out to the light.

(usually the only wire, unless there's a short ground-strap) Just make sure you don't touch that wire to the body or anything else metal while it's hot.

The best thing to do is get a car manual with an exploded view of how it comes apart and goes back together(Like a Haynes manual also from the parts store). Pay heed to the warnings about the air bag as well.

It will take 30-45 minutes to do, not difficult but you need to do things in the right order.

When you get the new switch, make sure it is the correct one. They have different parts if your car has radio controls in the steering wheel.

However, when my fridge started leaking, had a guy come over, and he tried fixing and messed things up more. So, we let the fridge go, and bought a new one from sears, with the blue crew warranty. Anything goes wrong now, they come and fix it for free. Saves everyone the headache.

You may want to call Sears, and have them come check it out, but expect to pay $250 for the visit and the fix--no matter how simple. Private guys are 50/50... you need to ask friends for whom the recommend in your area.

You need limited tools and no experience. A pair of large pliers may be all you need. A special wrench made to fit plumbing items is available at the hardware store, plubing section, if absolutely necessary. It will cost ten dollars or less.

The job should take only a few minutes, but allow a half hour if you have never done it.

Under the sink is a drain pipe which should have a %26quot;P%26quot; or %26quot;J%26quot; shaped junction. It usually consists of two pieces. At the middle point of this junction is a collar which allows the part to be separated. It can often be turned by hand, but a wrench or large pair of pliers will do it nicely.

Just beneath the sink is a tube that fits into the top of the junction, and there is another collar on top of the junction that keeps it in place, as well as keeping water inside. There is a seal inside this that fits against the pipe.

You can put a bucket or other container under the junction, then loosen the junction first and separate it and catch any water that is released..

Now loosen the ring at the top and then drop the junction away from the tube.

That leaves you with the part you want to replace sitting clear at the bottom of the sink..

Directly under the sink is a large collar that fits against the sink, and keeps the part in place. Sometimes it is made of plastic, and is fairly easy to turn, but often it is white metal which corrodes, and can be more difficult to remove. Both types fit into place by screw action. Ypu will probably need the pliers or the special wrench to loosen it.

(The wrench is an expandable thing that can fit many sizes)

You can turn that away and release the upper part. Remove everything.

A new drain will come with a sealing gasket to prevent water from leaking around the drain, and it will have a new ring to fit under the sink. It will probably have a downtube attached, but sometimes the down tube will be a separate part that screws up onto the drain. If it is the latter, put a drop of oil or vaseline on it before assembly. This makes for a better fit, and makes it easier to remove later.

Clean all the sink surface, and dry it. The new drain will have a small gasket to fit under the drain head, and a large one that fits against the sink from underneath.

Put the small seal around the new drain and drop it into place. Add the retainer ring and large gasket under the sink and tighten securely.

Reposition all the pipes, seals, and the junction, ensure they are all snug and have no leaks.

Basically, you have to get to the underside of the sink and disconnect the drainpipe from the trap (that's also a large nut - older ones are brass, newer ones are copper). Next, remove the stopper assembly, then unscrew the nut holding the drainpipe in place and push that up from the bottom. You need to clean the Silicone residue from the sink, and give that a pretty thorough cleaning.

That's really it - your new ring should come in a kit with a new stopper; you would essentially reverse the above directions. You'd want to put the ring in first, seat it with new Silicone, and tighten the nut on the underside - then let the silicone dry before going further.

Go to home depot: get a scraper for windor glazing. Get a small tube or can of window glazing. go home and remove the wood, remove the old glazing. It will be hard and brittle. Get all of it out, otherwise you might just break the new pice later or it won't sit right.

Once the old glazing is out, follow the direction for the new glazing. Som ein the wood frame, set the window, some more glazing on the windor where it meets the frame, and then add the wood that you took out (or the new wood).

Be careful hammerring in the wood back into place as you can split it if the nails are on a know or too close to the ends or side.

It's not hard, just takes patience.

You're begging for an unretreivable disk crash by running it the way you are. Once there's been a head crash inside the disk, small particles are flying around loose. Eventually, one of those will get between your system partition and the disk head, crashing the drive in a place you can't ignore.

Los Angeles Lakers- while they are the nba champions they still need to improve on parts of their rosters first off they need another back up big man, ive been saying this all year because the only big they have to come off the bench is lamar odom forcing gasol to play center. while he does a good job at it i think he'd be more effective playing more power forward in my opinion shaq would be a good fit. but thats just by playing style seeing as how he knows the triangle and he could still be a force coming off the bench but whether or not he'd be accepted by teammates, fans or even kobe alone is another question all together. i like what theyve done adding steve blake and devan ebanks but i think they need to a. get a physical big to come off the bench (if not shaq brendan haywood could be a possiblility) and b. keep derek fisher and try and keep shannon brown as blake's signing pretty much means farmar wont be coming back

Im having trouble with my characters. The two guys are in a fight but i don't know how to explain it..

i have this so far;

“Who is he?” Dylan asked going up to him, rubbing his cheek.

“Hi, its really nice to meet you my name is-” But before Justin could finish his sentence Dylan punched him straight in the jaw.

I heard a thump as Justin landing on the hard ground.

“Dylan!” I screamed. “What is your problem!”

I ran over to Justin, who was sitting on the ground rubbing his jaw. I bent down on the dirty ground. I pushed his hair back so I could see his blue eyes. “Are you okay”

He looked at me. “Im fine”

Dylan cracked his knuckles. “Is he your new boyfriend?” Dylan asked. “Did you replace me with him!”.

I got up off the ground. “What are you talking about!” I yelled. “Justin is my friend, his so sweet to me, unlike somebody I know!”

Justin got up of the ground too. “Come here” He said to Dylan rubbing his jaw.

Dylan grinned and walked towards him, but before he got half way justin ran towards him, like lighting blot, and smacked him against the tree.
