How would you replace a fuse box with a circuit breaker ?
I have an old building with a fuse box installed. I am tired of replacing fuses, is there a way to replace a fuse box with a circuit breaker panel ? Is this a very complicated task ?How would you replace a fuse box with a circuit breaker ?This is not a DIY job. I don't know Bob but I would never advise doing this as a rookie. The 'explosion' which can occur with the smallest mistake is incredible. Call in the right people. How would you replace a fuse box with a circuit breaker ?You can do this yourself but you would need to get the power company to turn off the power to your house first. Those wires coming in the back of your fuse box carry dangerous levels of electricity and could cash in your chips for you. Personally, I would hire someone because not only will they keep you safe but they will also find out if you have any other problems there. You need to buy a new circuit breaker panel. Those are about $100 or more for a main panel. And then you need to buy all new circuit breakers. Those cost anywhere from $7 to $15. If you get an electrician to do it, they should charge less than $1000. If it were me, you may also want to think about upgrading your service to your house. For instance, if you have a 100 amp service from the electric company, consider getting a 200 amp service. Sometimes they do not charge for that. And then have the electrician switch out the panel for you.How would you replace a fuse box with a circuit breaker ?i change maybe 30 a year. its not a real easy DIY job. if you think you could do it email me a fuzzyback55@yahoo and ill let you give me the specifics and ill see if i can talk you thru it
