The showerhead pipe is copper and all the pipe threads broke off at showerhead. Can I add threads to the remaining pipe with a tool or something? If not, is the pipe sticking out of the wall easy to replace? How do you replace a shower head pipe?Yeah the shower head arm should unscrew from its socket. The threads are sealed on the other end though so you will need to use a set of Channel Lock pliers.
When installing the replacement use thread sealant - teflon tape will do. be sure to protect the finish of the new arm with a rag or some thin cardboard so you don't mar the finish. How do you replace a shower head pipe?I don't recommend adding threads.
Try to remove the existing piece of pipe with a pair of pliers. Next buy a new piece and reinstall it. I recommend wrapping the threads with teflon tape (about two or three wraps). How do you replace a shower head pipe?all u need to do is take a rubber handle pair of pliers and stick one end in the shower neck (the part that has broken off) then turn it counter clock wise to unscrew it. then put teflon tape on the end furthest away from the curve and insert it into the wall and screw in clock wise. add the shower head and test for leaks.

How do I replace a sliding glass door with a window?
I need to replace a glass door with a wall and frame a window. Are there any how to plans out there to use?How do I replace a sliding glass door with a window?I'm assuming that this is for a patio door. When was your house built? That will determine if you need a size for new construction or retro-fit. If you want to replace the doors AND the frame, you can order the unit prehung (go to Lowe's or Home Depot. You can get a quality product for a good price) and get a contractor to do the actual installation. The contractor would then determine the RO (rough opening). For instance, if you have two 3' x 6'8%26quot; panels (6' X 6'8%26quot; total, which is standard size), your rough opening would probably need to be about 741/2%26quot; width x 81 1/2%26quot; height. That would leave room for the contractor to shim the doors before the brick is put back in place.
I hope that this helps. How do I replace a sliding glass door with a window?First you need to decide the size %26amp; type of window you plan to install prior to building a frame and closing in the wall. Do you want a double hung, casement, glider type window, etc. Once you determine that, then what size. Go to your lumber yard or home center with that window size to get the size of the rough opening you will need. Fortunately since you already have a door in place then the old opening already has a header installed and framing will be easier. Good luckHow do I replace a sliding glass door with a window?First things first, decide what size window you want to put in placement of the door, Being in construction as a rough framer for the past 15 years i can tell you this, if you want to put in say a 3foot by 4 foot window the first number is the width and the second number is the height, once you have decided what size you want then you have to decide if you want to center the window in the opening you all ready have or hold it off to one side or the other, once you have decided where you are going to locate it then comes the time to frame it in, now back to the number that i had mentioned before, if you bought a 3 x 4 window then you would frame the opening at 3 foot wide by 4 feet tall i know it sounds weird but the windows actually come out smaller than you think, it allows a 1/2 inch on either side to allow for shimming and leveling the window then when you put up drywall it can go back to meet the window, there is some books at home depot and Lowe's that can show you a better detail of how it all goes together, now what i have described above ,is what we deal with everyday is for standard vinyl windows, i hope this will help you and good luck with your project.

How do you replace the steering wheel on an 84 Toyota pickup?
So I have an 84 Toyota pickup and I went to take the steering wheel off to replace it the other day and after I took the front horn panel off there was, what seemed to be a lock or something. It looked brass and rectangular and it seemed to be holding the wheel on even after I removed the center nut. Anyone have any tips? How do you replace the steering wheel on an 84 Toyota pickup?Generally the steering wheel cannot withstand a very strong pull from you. You might want to rock the wheel a little while pulling one side then the other . Steering wheel puller are made for just that job. Some time i leave the nut screwed on a couple of threads so I don't smash the wheel into my face. Your old truck is old enough that it might need more than a steering wheel. How do you replace the steering wheel on an 84 Toyota pickup?1984? How do you replace a window with a bay window style?
I'm tryng to replace my old window attached to my kitchen sink with 5'x3' baywindow. I need to know the basic steps on how to layout the framing, what's the process of isntallation. How do you replace a window with a bay window style? After the removal of the unit you need to reframe the rough opening if the unit is a different size. If not you should check the condition of the framing members that are in the wall already. If you do resize the opening I would reccomend a double jack stud as well as a double window will. If you are going to replace your header then I would use LVL material, same size, greater strength. Next you need to apply what we on Long Island call %26quot;visqueen%26quot; but the rest of the world calls poly. This goes on the sill first and then the jack studs. It creates a water barrier. Next install the new window using the cable support system that should be included with the unit. Use silicone at all nail flanges to ensure it is watertight. i would also recommend using a Tyvek of Vycor window flashing system around the unit...it is a little pricy but well worth it. Reside around the unit and you are done outside. Stuff insulation in all new openings, install the head and seat boards, patch all the sheetrock and install the casing. GOOD LUCK

How do vegans replace their dairy vitamins?
I'm a vegetarian and planning to go vegan when I turn 18, but I'm just wondering, how do vegans replace their dairy vitamins? How do vegans replace their dairy vitamins?they usually take multivtamnics/supplements to replace dairy
they also drink soy milk//// and other soy productsHow do vegans replace their dairy vitamins?Excuse me? Dairy vitamins? Are we talking homogenized pus and pasteurized blood here? There are no nutrients to be found in cow's breast milk. Milk leeches calcium from your bones, which is why osteoporosis is so prevalent in America yet is almost nonexistent in Asia where dairy consumption up til the last decade was null.
Dairy accelerates prostate cancer in men, so are you sure you want to hold off til your 18th?How do vegans replace their dairy vitamins? You simply don't need to. You can get all your nutrients from plant based foods. The one exception is B12, for which you can take a supplement or buy cereals and soymilk fortified with it. Milk is NOT a good source of calcium, and yes, it does contribute to osteoperosis. The best sources of calcium are from foods like broccoli, kale, almonds, etc. And eating foods with vitamin C really helps to absorb calcium. Taking a multivitamin is a good idea for most people, but it doesn't replace having a good diet. How do vegans replace their dairy vitamins?Well I'm vegan and I don't take any supplements. Only flax seed oil sometimes for the Omega 3's., but for dairy not. If you mean calcium we get the proteins and the calcium from soy milk, soy products such as soy yogurts, etc, vegetables like potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, and peanuts, walnuts etc :-)
hope this helpsHow do vegans replace their dairy vitamins? What %26quot;vitamins%26quot; exactly are you talking about?
Do you suppose its natural for humans to rely on drinking milk from another species, to get their essiential %26quot;vitamins%26quot;? Weren't we weaned when we grew teeth?
Pasteurized cow milk is the one of the worst things you can put in your body under the so called %26quot;food%26quot; catagory. Its completely unnatural after its heated and loses most if not all its nutritional value. Not to mention all the enzymes that your body NEEDS to digest it! Because of the high protein content (and because its heated), everytime you drink it your body has to take away from it's own vital calcium, mineral, and enzyme supply just to digest it. It gives absolutely no benefit what so ever. Like I said your actually depleted of calcium when you drink it.
It also creates mucus in the body, and leaves a nasty cote of unnatural muck in the digestive track.
When milk is homogenized it does even more damage. It too is an unnatural process done only to %26quot;preserve%26quot; the life of the milk on the shelf, so profits aren't lost. It scars the arteries, which is one of the reasons heart disease is so present in people today.
If your talking raw cow milk, that would be a different. But still the imbalance of minerals in cow milk are completely unnatural to the human body. Cow's milk was designed for calves, not humans. Just as human milk was created specifically for a human baby. Raw milk is extremely hard to find now days anyway, unless you have your own cows ofcourse or know someone who does.
By the way, if your talking of vitamin B12, you don't need to seek animal products to get it. B12 is in leafy green vegetables, legumes and our own intesinal flora! It takes a healthy, clean digestive track to absorb it though. So most people who consume animal products don't even have the ability to absorb it, which is why B12 deficincy is more present in people who consume animal products than people who don't.

I recommend that you try collards green with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
Bread, pasta, cereal, rice, beans, peas, lentils, nuts, seeds, fruits and veggies can easily offer everything that you need except B12.

All vegetarians should take a B12 supplement regularly since most people eat meat, dairy AND fortified cereals yet still have a B12 status that is lower than recommended.

How do you replace the belt that drives only the power steering fluid pump on a 2000 chrysler cirrus?

There is no belt tensioner so I do not know how to get the belt over the pulleys. How do you replace the belt that drives only the power steering fluid pump on a 2000 chrysler cirrus? What engine do you have. If it is the 2.4l the pump is in the front if its the V6 its in the back. The belt tension is applied by moving the PS pump on its mount. On a V6 vehicle you will have to raise it up to get under the passenger side of the engine to access the mount bolts to adjust it. On the 2.4L it is right there on the top.
How do I replace a fuel pump in a Mercruiser 898 sterndrive?
I have a 1978 Mark Twain 180v, with a Chevy 305 cid on a Mercruiser 898 Sterndrive. The fuel pump is out and I need to replace. My only problem is that I have no idea how and do not have a manual. If anybody can help, please do.How do I replace a fuel pump in a Mercruiser 898 sterndrive? The same way as on a 305 or 350 chevy car engine.
Gasket on surface, pump lever in the block and tilt the pump so the lever goes under the cam lobe, tighten the bolts and reconnect the lines.
One note: be sure NOT to use a car fuel pump, the marine version has an extra port (diaphragm vent) that routes by a fuel hose to the carburetor top, when the diaphragm in the pump fails and it starts to leak this extra port dumps the fuel into the carb instead into the boat! How do I replace a fuel pump in a Mercruiser 898 sterndrive? When U remove it the rod will slid down U will have to lift it up and hold it so the arm on the pump pushes it up if not the pump will not work and damage will incur. How do I replace a fuel pump in a Mercruiser 898 sterndrive?frank m nailed it.
follow the fuel hose down from the carb. you'll find a pump on the side of the motor with 2 bolts holding it on.
unbolt it, clean the old gasket off the motor and install the new one with a new gasket.
as frank said, you need a MARINE pump, not one purchases at an auto parts store. an automotive pump is not designed with the same thoughs of fumes and fire as a marine pump is.
on a big block chevy, you would however need to worry about a push rod between the pump and the cam that drives it. but not on a small block, such as a 305.

How much would it cost to replace the motor in a 98 Toyota corolla?
My car recently died, and I am debating whether to spend 2-4k on some marginal used car or if it would be better to buy a used engine and replace it in the car--
My car is a junker already anyway(it was my first car since 16 and I am now 24).

Sell the Corolla for parts. Take that money and add it to what you've
got towards a newer Toyota and your set....
I'm sure you know what the good parts are, even some you wouldn't
even think. ie...tail lights, electrical, glass, etc...
If the car is really far gone.....Send it to the salvage yard and get
the scrap metal price for it...
Good Luck with the new wheels..

How much will it cost to replace the suspension on a 1997 infiniti qx4?
I know it depends on what is being replaced but I just want a ballpark figure if I replace the most common things. How much will it cost to replace the suspension on a 1997 infiniti qx4?Rear shocks for your vehicle are about $50 each: ($100)
Front struts for your vehicle are about $100 each: ($200)
A set of 4 coil springs is probably about: ($400)
Probably 4-6 hours of labor. Assuming an average shop rate of $60/hr: ($240 - $360)
Total Estimate: $940 - $1060
You could cut this cost down by buying cheaper suspension parts (the low-end Monroe shocks and struts are about 30% cheaper), but I can't recommend it if you plan on keeping the vehicle.
Also note that any problems during the install that are due to worn or frozen bushings is going to increase the cost of parts as well as labor, and it will add up quickly. Don't be surprised if the shop recommends new ball joints, suspension end links, bushings, camber kits or suspension mounts, all of which significantly increase time and cost. How much will it cost to replace the suspension on a 1997 infiniti qx4?Of course once you get all the following replaced mentioned above you would defently need an alignment,to make sure the parts are all working together.Anytime you replace something in the suspention its always recommended to get a alignment and usualy they run $60 bucks but i would defently take it in and see what they say needs replaced i find it hard to beleive the complete suspention system is shot.normally its shocks and stuts, the coil springs control the vechile height , ball joints can go bad most of these you can test your self or have a shop test out .How much will it cost to replace the suspension on a 1997 infiniti qx4?yes.How much will it cost to replace the suspension on a 1997 infiniti qx4?whatever you do dont take it to the dealer and make sure you check online for savings. How do you replace the heater blower motor switch in a 03 jeep wrangler?
The button that controls the speed of the fan in my jeep wrangler no longer works in the first three positions. Therefore, I'm forced to use the highest setting when I am running the air or heat. I believe its the blower motor switch based on the parts list but I'm no sure how to replace it without having to take it in and pay a fortune. Is there any advice on how to fix this problem? How do you replace the heater blower motor switch in a 03 jeep wrangler? It is not the switch that is bad. The problem is the blower motor resistor. This is located under the dash near the blower motor and is easy to change. They normally cost under $30.00 at any parts store and you can change it yourself with only basic hand tools and there is no wire cutting involved. The blower motor resistor regulates the amount of power that the motor can use by limiting the amount of ground it can use. When these resistors go bad you lose the slower settings until there is only the high setting. Hope I have been helpful. How do you replace the heater blower motor switch in a 03 jeep wrangler?99% chance its the blower motor resistor, not the switch. See post below

How do you replace a relay switch on a car door?
I have a 1996 chevy corsic v6 3.1. About a month ago my car locks started going crazy. The automatic locks would just keep locking over a over again and the inside light would stay on even after the car was shut off. I originaly just pulled the fuses on the locks and the overhead light, but the floor light would stay on. It is starting to weaken my battery so I need to get it fixed. My sister has the same model car (just with no enigine) that she lets me use for spare parts. I have found out that it should be a bad relay switch in the door. So where is this relay switch and how do i replace it. Or is it easier to just switch doors with my sister's car. Thanks for the help. How do you replace a relay switch on a car door?Mostly all your relays will be located under the hud of your car. It most likely will be located in a black plastic box with a removable cover. Now what you want to do when you located the relay box is to operate the door lock locks and feel or listen to each rely to see which one it is. How do you replace a damaged car hood?
I just ordered a new hood for my car...Can I replace it myself or do I have to bring it to an auto body shop? How do you replace a damaged car hood? There will be 4 bolts, usually two on either hinge, possibly more. before starting, i noticed nobody told you that you have to disconect your sprayer nozzles and bonnet struts(the gas cylinders on either side of the hood that hold it up when its open, some cars arent fitted with these) on the hood before removing it, otherwise risk dropping the hood when you realise its still connected :P but yeah, there will be little rubber feet at the front of the hood that will also need to be moved to the new one, these are used to adjust the height of the hood when closed. and also the bonet latch will need to be shifted to the other hood before fitting, (This should all be done prior to fittin simply because its easier) so, disconect nozzles and hoses, remove rubber feet (with the rubber feet try and get them so they are screwed in the same amount as on the old hood, this makes aligning a whole lot easier) and remove latch, place all these things on the new hood, (assuming it is already painted, if not thats a whole other kettle of fish,) and then proceed with the help of someone capable of lifting a 50Kg hood. before you do anything put the hinge bolts just next to the hinge so that you can grab them with one hand, and you then need to move the hood into position with one person standing on each side next to the hinges, then you will each need to grab one of the bolts, and do it up finger tight, then the other, that will be sufficiant to hold it up nearly on its own, then one person holds it from the front middle, whilst the other does the bolts up tight. Then proceed to attach the hose and bonnet struts back up, then your done! How do you replace a damaged car hood?On most models you can replace it yourself if you have the right tooling. I know on my vehicle all i had to do is take off some bolts remove the old hood, put the new hood on, and then make sure that it is lined up correctly. How do you replace a damaged car hood?I've done this, but would not try it again.

How do i replace a steel door frame in a brick wall?
I want to replace a steel door frame in a single brick wall. I believe during construction the frame is put up first and the bricks fit into it and lock it in place. I think i can probably cut it out ok but i don't know how to put in a new one.How do i replace a steel door frame in a brick wall?Buy a %26quot;knockdown%26quot; buck, comes in three pieces, 2 side jambs and a header jamb. you can either bend tabs over (provided) or weld together in place. Remember... Plumb %26amp; square!!How do i replace a steel door frame in a brick wall?If this building is a wood frame building with brick veneer, then the frame was secured to the wood framing, then the brick was just laid up to the frame. The frame was secured with metal brackets that lock into the frame and then the ends bend over and around the wood framing and secured with a screw. This means you can simply run a sawzall with a metal cutting blade down between brick and frame on both sides of the door frame.
If in fact it is a block wall with brick veneer, then the frame brackets are imbedded into the block joints as the block is laid up %26amp; sometimes the frame cavity is then filled or we call it *slushed with grout. This grout fills the cavity of the metal frame and locks in around all the frame anchors. It is tough to tear out this kind of frame.Look for a grout hole about 1+1/2%26quot; in diameter at the top of the frame head pc. This tells you if the frame was grouted in.
To install a new frame- simply measure your total wall thickness and try to keep your new frame set out as close as possible to the surface of the wall on the side the door swings to. If you hold the frame in too far the door will hit either the brick or the inside wall corner keeping the door from opening completely.
It would be best to have the door manufacturer of (door shop) come out and take the measurements, check the wall thickness, check door swing, etc. You probably have a 7'0%26quot; tall frame - which is usually used on masonry, or a 4%26quot; head pc. on a 6'8%26quot; frame which gives you 7'0%26quot; to work out with block/brick height.

How much does it cost to replace an engine belt?
I know my car has a dried out engine belt. The dealer that fixes my car told me if I don't replace it soon, it will ruin my engine which of course worries me. I asked how much it would cost to replace and he said $375, with a coupon. Does this sound reasonable or am I right that I am getting ripped off?
Thanks in advance. How much does it cost to replace an engine belt?If you're talking about a timing belt, it is very possible that $375 is a reasonable cost. The belt itself is not expensive, it's the time it takes for a mechanic to get to the belt that typically drives up the cost.
If you have an interference fit engine, it is a definite must to get your timing belt changed at the proper interval. If you don't, you can damage the engine if it breaks, and cost can run upward of $2000 to repair if you let the belt go.
You don't mention type of car, year, engine, or mileage, so it's hard to give you any more advice. I'd definitely recommend changing it out.How much does it cost to replace an engine belt?If it is the timing belt he is talking about then $375 dollars is a reasonable price. Reason it cost so much is in a lot of cases you have to unbolt the motor mounts and lift it up after you get down to the engine. Have to remove alternator and power steering belts, a/c belts or poly belt. and in lot of cases remove them before you can jack the engine up. And in some cars you have to remove the drive lines (axles) in order to be able to jack the engine up enough in order to change the belts.
If they are talking about the alternator, power steering, a/c belts, or poly belt then no that is too high.
Timing belts should be changed every fifty to one hundred thousand miles.
alternator, power steering, a/c belts or poly belt should be changed once a year along with radiator hoses and heater hoses. When you are changing the radiator and heater hoses it is always a good idea to change the thermostat as well. How much does it cost to replace an engine belt?I think you are referring to the timing belt.
If I am correct that's about an average price..How much does it cost to replace an engine belt?Depending on the car that sounds reasonable. If you don't know how to do it yourself, then definitely pay the money. Just think of it as peace of mind. Figure 6 hrs labor at $50/hr. Then $75 for the part give or take...Not too bad.How much does it cost to replace an engine belt?Exterior belt (water pump, alternator, power steering, a/c drive belts) shouldn't cost more than fifty to seventy-five dollars installed. Interior belts (timing belt) may well cost three hundred and seventy-five to four hundred dollars (or more!). If he's charging the higher price for the exterior belts, then no, it doesn't sound reasonable and yes, you're being ripped off. Good luck! How much does it cost to replace an engine belt?if your talking about the timing belt that a very reasonable price at a dealer most i do start at 350 and up if its just accessory belts thats very high should run around 150 to 225 dollars tops what type of car most cars have a recomended interval changing the timing belt, from 35 to 60 thousand miles if your belt breaks it can bend valves, bust pistons, crack heads beyond repair if it is considered an interference engine can then cost up to 15oo dollars or more good luck hope this helps dougrosedougrose@yahoo.comHow much does it cost to replace an engine belt?timing belts are expensive.....375 isn't bad for a timing belt job....replace the water pump while you're in there. if it is an interference engine, i would make sure you get it done every 90K miles...... regular belts like alternator, power steering etc. are much cheaper..How much does it cost to replace an engine belt?Is the dealer talking about the TIMING BELT?
That estimate could be accurate some cars.
Other engine belts cost between $10-30; add maybe 1/2 hr for labor.

How often a landlord has to replace the carpet and repaint?
I lived in Los Angeles county. I heard that after 5 years or 7 years, the landlord have to replace the carpet if he didn't replace after you have lived for 5 or 7 years, the landlord can't deduce money for the carpet or painting. So please let me know is it 5 years or 7 years? How often a landlord has to replace the carpet and repaint?Neither. A landlord does not have to replace carpet. If carpet is cared for it can last 20 years or more. Paint is another thing. If they have to paint because you left a lot of dirty scuff marks they can charge you.How often a landlord has to replace the carpet and repaint?Neither applies. You have been misinformed. A landlord is not required to replace carpet which is in perfectly good condition, and the same applies to paint which is acceptable. If you moved into premises with ten year old carpeting in perfect shape, you are responsible for damages caused to that carpet. How often a landlord has to replace the carpet and repaint?NEITHER! That is NOT true! There is no required time to paint or replace the carpet. These things are strictly done as needed. If you caused it to be needed then you WILL be charged for it. The only time a tenant can not be charged is if it needs to be done just because it is warn out.How often a landlord has to replace the carpet and repaint? You have two separate issues.
First, the landlord is not required by law to replace the carpet or repaint unless they make the place uninhabitable.
Your real issue is with being charged for damages to the carpet or repainting.
In CA, you should only be charged for the useful life of the damaged carpet. It does not matter how long you lived there. It is the age of the carpet and it's life expectancy that determines how much a tenant can be charged. See #2 below.
Repainting is similar, however, it dies depend on how long you have resided in the rental. After 2 years, a tenant should not be charged at all unless there is damage to the walls as opposed to the paint. See #3 below.

They are not the law, however, they are consistent with the law. They are practical guides/suggested approaches to security deposit deductions.
That said, California is considered a very tenant friendly state when it comes to housing issues.
2. Carpets and drapes - %26quot;useful life%26quot; rule
Normal wear and tear to carpets, drapes and other furnishings cannot be charged against a tenant's security deposit. Normal wear and tear includes simple wearing down of carpet and drapes because of normal use or aging, and includes moderate dirt or spotting. In contrast, large rips or indelible stains justify a deduction from the tenant's security deposit for repairing the carpet or drapes, or replacing them if that is reasonably necessary.
One common method of calculating the deduction for replacement prorates the total cost of replacement so that the tenant pays only for the remaining useful life of the item that the tenant has damaged or destroyed. For example, suppose a tenant has damaged beyond repair an eight-year-old carpet that had a life expectancy of ten years, and that a replacement carpet of similar quality would cost $1,000. The landlord could properly charge only $200 for the two years' worth of life (use) that would have remained if the tenant had not damaged the carpet.
3. Repainting walls
One approach for determining the amount that the landlord can deduct from the tenant's security deposit for repainting, when repainting is necessary, is based on the length of the tenant's stay in the rental unit. This approach assumes that interior paint has a two-year life. (Some landlords assume that interior paint has a life of three years or more.)
Length of stay - Deduction
Less than 6 months - full cost
6 months to 1 year - two-thirds of cost
1 year to 2 years - one-third of cost
2 or more years - no deduction
Using this approach, if the tenant lived in the rental unit for two years or more, the tenant could not be charged for any repainting costs, no matter how dirty the walls were.scene hair kenra products

How do I replace my 1997 Jeep cherokee hood release cable?
I pulled on my hood release cable (which had been sticking as of late) and the handle and part of the cable ripped out when I pulled... I'm not exactly a %26quot;handyman,%26quot; but if anyone knows how to replace one, or knows a website that can give great, step by step instructions, that would be phenomenal. Or if you think just going to a mechanic to fix it. If I went to a mechanic, about how much would that cost? How do I replace my 1997 Jeep cherokee hood release cable?Replacing the cable is the easy part. The hard part is getting the hood open. On most cars this involves taking the front grill off in order to get to the latch. If you are not a %26quot;handyman%26quot; I suggest you take it to a mechanic you trust. How do I replace my 1997 Jeep cherokee hood release cable?I know I replaced the same part on my 87 Pontiac lemans and it was a bear! I had to take off the drivers side tire and then take off the wheel liner and then I had to take out the battery and then you have to remove the hood latch in front of the radiator. The release Handel was held in place by some screws in back of it and then I removed the old cable and ran the new one in the exact place as the old one. I do remember that the bolts that held on the latch were really rusty and I broke off a head. I would suggest to soak the bolts in penetrating oil and let it sit for a few hours or use a torch to heat up the bolts. I would also suggest you go to the library to get a manual for you car it will tell you haw do it step by step.

I did the same thing to a truck I had just bought a few years ago and my dad tried to fix it himself. After fighting with it for a while we just took the new part to a local car shop (the kind where the guys are always black with grease) and they fixed it in about an hour for about $50. We were just charged for the labor since we brought our own part.

How do you replace battery cables and connectors on Chevy Camaro?
I have a 98' Chevy Camaro 3.8L V6 Coupe and I need to replace the battery cables and connectors because my current ones are corroded by battery acid. Yet, I have no idea how to do that. I have very little experience working on automobiles. Any advice would be great! How do you replace battery cables and connectors on Chevy Camaro? There are two many cables. The positive which is Red and the negative which is Black. When removing and installing the cables, always disconnect the negative battery cable before performing repairs. This is also the last thing to be connected. This will prevent you from shorting out the electrical system.
The battery terminals are a side mount and the battery is a 78 series. The bolts are 5/16'. The negative cable runs down to the side of the engine and is attached with a 9/16' or 14mm bolt. The positive cable runs down to the starter and is attached using a 15mm lock nut. This can sometimes be tricky to remove because the terminal stud on the starter solenoid can come loose while trying to loosen the lock nut. To prevent this from happening, hold the cable with your other hand while loosening the lock nut.
Hope this helps and good luck. ChristopherHow do you replace battery cables and connectors on Chevy Camaro? If you want to clean the battery ends just pour some coca-cola onto the ends of the connectors. Depending if the connectors bolt onto the end of the cable or if they are made onto the cable,if the connectors are made to the cable you can cut them off to replace them with new connectors,if there bolted onto the cable just un-bolt the two bolts and replace with new connectors, you should beable to do this job with ease. How do you replace battery cables and connectors on Chevy Camaro?easy, disconnect cables at battery, then follow cables to where they go and disconnect. red cable will go to starter, black cable will go to a ground. a socket set is all you need. you may just need to clean the cables. disconnect at battery, use wire brush to clean off corrosion. (wear gloves). use some sandpaper to clean down to shiny metal, reconnect.. if they are not rusted through, that may take care of it!hair gel cute hair

Use either a plastic or wooden flat stick to aid in positioning the outside %26quot;lip%26quot; of the seal. Place the lower edge of the glass in the seal channel and then work the edge of the seal over the outer (side nearest you) side of the glass using the stick. Thin nylon cord can also be used if you do not have a stick as described. Feed the cord into the channel all the way around after lubricating with a little soap, place the window against the seal and feed it into the seal as you pull the cord straight toward you. It sounds a little confusing but it is easy for small windows as you are working on. If all else fails...go to a glass shop. They would have it done quickly and cheaply. I provided the how-to in case you are a DIY type.

What will I need to buy? I need to know everything.
How long will it take before the car will be up and running?

If I buy a kit and take it to a professional how much will that cost approximately? And how long will it take? How do I replace a stock car exhaust for a 1996 Chevy Blazer LS?A good shop will do it in about 3-4 hours, so figure about 150-200 on labor, plus parts. They often fabricate their own pipes out of stock, cuz its often cheaper and easier for them than a kit. id resist putting headers on if i had to ask this question, they are hard to seal with the engine in the vehicle. So if your looking to remove the cats and go headers back, id definately take it to the shop. If its just a cat back kit, all you really need is some wrenches, and maybe a saw to get the old cat back off. they come prefit, with all clamps and hardware. this should take an afternoon, without a lift. If you let your buddy do the whole thing, hes going to need some experience and a welder if he isnt %26quot;half'assing%26quot; it.

The registration can be done online and will take effect immediately. the lost title, you might want to go to a Pendot center and figure out which form you need to fill out. How do I replace the strings on my acoustic guitar?
I use a Yamaha steel-string guitar and I need to replace the 1st E-string (the smallest one) after it broke. I have a basic idea of how to do it, but I need to be sure, especially the part where I wind it around the head/tuning pegs. Thanks! How do I replace the strings on my acoustic guitar?Usually when one string breaks, it's time to replace the entire set.
Change one string at a time...do not take every string off the guitar and then add the new ones. Changing strings one at a time leaves tension on the bridge and neck. (preferable)
Look closely how your other strings are attached to the guitar.
Pull the bridge pin out where the broken string is...you may need some needle nose pliers?
Put the ball end of the string in the bridge pin hole and press the bridge pin back into place.
Some bridge pins have little grooves...make sure this groove is facing toward the neck of the guitar...toward the tuning keys..etc.
Pull the string up until it meets resistance from the bridge pin.
Thread the other end of the string through the tuning key hole, measuring a good 1 1/2 tuning key lengths extra of string. (this is to ensure 2 1/2 to 3 string windings around the tuning post.)
In other words, put the string through the hole, then just before the 3rd string tuning key, mark that point by holding it...then create some slack in the string by pulling the string back through the hole until that point meets the first string tuning key. (still with me? Haha)
If you can..physically bend the string at the first string tuning post as it exits the hole, then begin tightening the tuning key.
The trick to this is...maintain pressure on the string by holding it tight against the tuning post with your right hand, while your left hand turns the tuning key.
When the string wrap makes a complete circle...go UNDER the previous wrap....continue tightening the string this way until, hopefully you have at least 2 1/2 to 3 wraps around the tuning post. Make sure the bridge pin is staying in place when you tighten the string, sometimes they tend to pop out of the bridge.
Tune the string to proper pitch.
Then grab the string at the 12th fret and stretch it..up down sideways..etc..and retune. ( this will help the string stay in tune faster)
Remember...when tuning it's always best to go below pitch and tighten the string up to pitch to maintain tension on the string.
If a guitar string is sharp...Never simply lower the string back to pitch...go below the proper pitch, and then back up to pitch to keep the string tight.
Hope this helped you...and remember...keep practicing till those fingers bleed. How do I replace the strings on my acoustic guitar? You know if you are not sure you can have guitar center show you howHow do I replace the strings on my acoustic guitar?http://www.fretnotguitarrepair.com/strinjava Why do bed sheets shed

You know if you are not sure you can have guitar center show you howHow do I replace the strings on my acoustic guitar?http://www.fretnotguitarrepair.com/strin

How much would it cost to replace a broken headlight lens?
I drive a Pontiac G6 2007 and recently got into a small accident. Now I have a broken headlight lens; the actual light itself is fine.
Is it possible to just get the lens replaced? (or would I have to replace the whole light assembly??)

How do you replace a doorknob to a bedroom or bathroom door?
My bedroom doorknob is stripped and stuck in one position :) I need to replace it before my lease expires at my apartment and I'm not a handy girl but I can try.How do you replace a doorknob to a bedroom or bathroom door?It sounds like it may just be the latch that needs to be replaced....but it's easy enough to replace the whole set.
You need a screwdriver (most use a phillips screw (+) )
Some door knob sets, have a cover place over the screws that hold the door knob set to the door. A butter knife, or putty knife, places under the edge, can pop this off for you. If you have this type, then the knob itself will need to be removed first.... look at the knob... where it is smallest.... if there is a small slot, with a metal tab in it... you need to take a flat screwdriver, and press in on that tab... it is holding the knob handle in place... If you press in on the tab, and pull on the handle, it will slide off by pulling on it. Once the knob is off, pop the base cover plate off, and you will find the two phillips screws there.
Some door knob sets do not bother hiding the phillips screws... these are the easiest to replace...
With the door open, unscrew the two screws... you may notice that the knob on the other side wants to back out, as you are taking these out... you can hold the knob in place, to make it easier to remove the screws. These screws will be about 2 inches long.... so dont be surprised, hehhehe.
Once the screws are out, the door knobs will pull apart. One half will have the posts that the the screws had been in. Note that half....those posts slide into the latch mechanism, helping to hold it in place.
Most interior doors do not use a screwed in place latch.... its just a press fit... if you put your screwdriver thru the hole where the door knob was, and tap it lightly on the side with a hammer, the latch will pop right out. If the latch has a plate in the edge of the door, then you will need to take those two screw out... theyll be short ones.
I would suggest that then you take the whole thing to your local hardware store, to get another one, like it. Most bedroom knob sets do not cost a whole lot.... between $10 and $15 is the norm. Again, you may be able to get just a new latch, if that is what is broken... the clerk at the store should be able to tell you this.
Once you have the new hardware, it goes back into the door, the reverse order of how you took it out... the latch goes in first. If it was a press fit... simply tap it in place... lol.. and make sure it is pointed in the right direction, lol. The latch bolt should have the curved, or angled side, facing towards the door frame, as you would close the door. Then, slide the knob with the posts in it, thru the latch bolt. Put the other half on, and insert your screws. It may help to leave the knob out just a bit, so you can start the screws in those posts. Once you have the screws started, run them both in, a little at a time, switching back and forth, between the two screws.
If you had the type of knob that has a cover plate.... then you put it back on... a slight tap, should seat it properly, then slide the knob back on.
That's all there is to it. It's an easy fix, and you shouldnt have any trouble with it.

How do you replace a clock spring on a 2004 Dodge intrepid by yourself ?
I have a 2004 Dodge Intrepid. I need to figure out how to replace the clock spring and WHERE TO BUY IT!!! My car's horn isn't working and the airbag light has been on for over two months. There is a slight crackling noise when I turn the wheel. I am pretty sure that its the clock spring, but I need directions on how to fix it and where to get the parts. Thank you!!!!! Any help is truly appreciated! How do you replace a clock spring on a 2004 Dodge intrepid by yourself ?you have to pull the steering wheel ,but first you have to disconnect the battery in it then remove the air bag and unplug it being really careful with it,then behind the steering wheel is the clock spring, you,ll need a good steering wheel puller and a lot of patience, and a good repair manual,i would never start any job like that without one,you can do it though i have seen a lot of people change their own and do a good job on it,the part can be bought at a dealer,i wouldn't go with a used one not on this part, its to much trouble to take back out, good luck. How do you replace a clock spring on a 2004 Dodge intrepid by yourself ?Yes- you %26quot;can%26quot; replace the clockspring. However, I do not recommend it if your not experienced with automobiles. you need to remove the steering wheel in order to replace the clockspring. This involves many things you need to be aware of. #1) your safety when working with a live airbag in the wheel. (This being deployed while you're working on it could actually be fatal)! This part will more than likely only be available through the OEM (Chrysler) for your to purchase.
