Ask a friend if they've ever done it, etc, it is easy.How do you replace a thermocouple on a hot water heater?Bob R said it pretty good although you may be able to do it without removing the whole burner assembly.......some heaters are different though.....I always leave the burner assembly in but if you are unsure of what you are doing then you might want to take it out.....if it's a whirlpool water heater then the thermocouple threads are left-handed!
